13/01/2017: Japanese Tapeworm discovered in Alaskan Salmon?


Health officials warn that salmon caught in Alaskan waters may contain Japanese Tapeworm

A recent study published in the Centres for Diseases Control and Prevention's Emerging Infectious Diseases journal suggested the salmon may have tapeworm.

The study was made after a team of scientists examined wild Alaskan salmon and observed their organs under microscope.

Previously it was thought that the parasite only infected fish caught in Asia.
